It's "Kids Day" at the Greene County Fair. We're off to feed some goats and eat fried stuff.
Peace!

Photography
If you haven't figured it out already, I like to take pictures. Really, I like all kinds of artistic pursuits, but the photography bug has bitten me particularly hard lately and I've been actively trying to develop my skills. Like so many creative endeavors photography is such a mix of scientific and creative proficiency. It's extremely challenging and I'm completely hooked.
Last week when Jameson got to play around with the food coloring and water, I also got to play around but with the camera. I took what I think are some decent pictures and I've uploaded them to my deviantART account where I've been collecting some of my better work. Feel free to critique -- there are a million and one things I hate about these results, but I've got a ton of ideas I want to go back and try. I know so little about photography that I really just consider this part of the learning process. I'm hoping if I work at it I can start getting some real quality results.
Here are a few samples. Definitely click on the pictures for better resolution versions of these images. You can see the whole lot of pictures I took here, but below are some of the few I liked best.

On the Road Again
I'm traveling for work again this week and haven't been much in the mood for blogging.
But, strangely, I am in the mood for potatoes.

I'm Getting the Band (Back?) Together
I like stopping by and reading Cake's blog. Her younger and cooler blog is currently one of my pipelines into the more eccentric corners of the interweb which I don't have time to explore myself. Here's the "game" I pilfered from one of her recent posts. I guess it's similar to the concept of coming up with your porn star name, but far more interesting. (By the way, if you didn't know, your porn star name is your middle name + the name of the street on which you grew up. My porn star name is Edward Kling.)
1 - Go to wikipedia random. The title of the page is the name of your band.
2 - Go to random quotations. The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days." The third picture (no matter what it is) will be your album cover.
Share your results (or your porn name). Maybe this will be a future Coachella lineup.
My band: Superpattern
Our first album: Which We Created Them
