Unidirectional Bonding Strip
Wicked awesome animation. I never realized how much I love the sound of tape.

Super Heroes
I bought a new tripod and the kids obliged me with a "super hero" fight while I checked out my new rig. The resulting images were the perfect opportunity for my first attempt at an animated gif.
Then I realized my first gif was the perfect opportunity to use the "lens flare" filter in Photoshop Elements.
I can't wait to show the kids their new powers...

Adventure Time!
Don't forget Adventure Time tonight at 8:00 on Cartoon Network.
It's like Calvin and Hobbes meets SpongeBob Squarepants set in Hyrule as written by Stephen King and drawn by the people that made those old movie intermission animations. Like bacon flavored mayonnaise, it's not for everyone.

Righteous!
Adventure Time on Cartoon Network. It's the single greatest show on television and the only program for which I make time to watch. I cannot get enough of Finn the human boy and Jake the wise old dog. Watching makes me feel pure.
New episodes air Monday's at 8:00. You would be wise to tune in. It's the righteous thing to do. Click here for a full episode.

Project Complete?
I am the king of the perpetual, close-but-not-quite-finished project. So, it's kind of a big deal when I truly complete one of my pursuits. I promised myself this year I was going to finish more projects than I start (i.e. catch up on some of the back log). Well, I've at least taken one step in the right direction. Early last year I bought Jameson a bulletin board with the intention of giving it a painted SpongeBob SquarePants theme. After many months of working on it for an hour here and an hour there, I'm finally done. The whole thing probably could have been done in a weekend if I had, you know, free time. But whatever, I'm just glad to be crossing something off the ol' list.
Though maybe I could squeeze Gary or Squidward in there... or how about a SpongeBob title... hmmmm... maybe I'm not done.

Where Are You?
In all the years that I've been watching the various iterations of Scooby-Doo, I've never really paid any attention to the mystery formula of the show. Weird, huh? It's the same setup in every episode. You meet a few characters, a few red herring clues are revealed pointing to the wrong people and then the ghost/monster is ultimately unmasked, exposing the least likely suspect. Same thing every time. But I never watched the show trying to figure out who the villain was. I guess I liked it for the chase scenes, lame slapstick and the laugh track.
Now that Jameson is into the old episodes, I'm getting to revisit the show. Watching them again with him is like having some sort of epiphany. Apparently I'm easily fascinated. Or I've had one too many Scooby Snacks.

Great Advertising
I love great advertising. I love the following advertising because it's great and it was done by a couple of college kids. And I love it even more that the one dude's name is Wrigglesworth.
Response to D&AD Student Awards brief set by Hewlett Packard.

One Seed
Zach Ruef, a guy I went to grade school and high school with, just completed his Masters of Fine Arts from The Art Institute of California in San Francisco. He's incredibly creative and talented (always has been). Follow this link to see his computer animated thesis, "One Seed" as well as some of the rest of his portfolio. Nice work, Zach!
