Walking off the plane was the beginning of the end. Something in the kids just snapped as soon as they got out of their seats.
Maybe it was being confined in an airplane seat for six hours after being confined in a hotel room for sixteen hours after being confined in a minivan for six hours.
Or maybe it was because it was 10:30 PM back in Ohio and they should have been in bed hours ago.
Or maybe Mom and Dad were just too tired to be patient.
Whatever the reason, getting off the plane, collecting luggage and getting the rental car was miserable.
When we were all finally loaded into the car, ready to go to the hotel, we all breathed a heavy, long sigh of relief.
At the hotel that night, getting to sleep was easy as... zzzzzzz.
